New Local Food Map Partnership Launches!

We are happy to announce our newest partner project, the Buy Local! Buy Fresh! Okanagan food map. This direct marketing tool benefits both residents and tourists alike, and provides a cost effective method for local farms and businesses to connect with consumers. This well established model has been successfully used for over ten years in other parts of Canada including Ontario, Newfoundland and on Vancouver Island here in British Columbia. We are very pleased to be working with the Buy Local BC Initiative to bring this program to the BC Interior. One of our main development tasks over the winter was collaborating with both the local agricultural community, and then with the organic sector specifically, with regards to standards for identification and representation. We are striving to have the inaugural 2013 Okanagan Valley edition ready in May for the summer season. Please visit buylocalbc.org for information and registration details.
