The Okanagan Greens Society says
Thank You Kelowna for a Great Green Day!

The sunshine was dazzling and we even had photographers on the roof, as green inspiration surrounded everyone at yesterday’s 4th Annual Organic Okanagan Festival!

Nearly 1000 attendees enjoyed the daylong celebration, with 720 lbs of food raised for the Kelowna Community Food Bank, as well as $3,500 raised for the Okanagan Greens Society community outreach programs. Over forty-five selected businesses and organizations were showcased in the event, generously hosted by Kelowna’s certified organic vineyard, Summerhill Pyramid Winery.

Highlights from the 2009 festival included:  Percy Schmeiser’s standing room only GE Free discussion, the first hybrid festival shuttle bus, the consignment fashion show and the stunning array of local, natural organic goodness presented by all the participants.

“This year’s festival had a phenomenal feeling to it,” says Wendy Wright, Festival Director. “Everyone involved in this event has demonstrated amazing community cooperation and we know it is having a positive impact.”

The Okanagan Greens Society expresses a heartfelt thank you to our devoted festival volunteer team, all the participating sponsors including Choices Markets, the festival exhibitors and the Okanagan community for their continued support.
