Enjoy, sample, shop and learn with Activist Alley, the Green Building Expo, an Organic Farmer's Market and much more!
Extensive parking is available at Okanagan College, with limited parking at Summerhill Winery. We will be offering a free OOF bus shuttle all day long enabling festival attendees to park and ride from either location on a loop.
2011 is an exciting year for the Organic Okanagan Festival (OOF)! Attendance has been growing steadily every year as we are able to expand our offerings; therefore with the addition of a second venue at Okanagan College we will simultaneously showcase even more Okanagan environmental information, focusing on eco-building, alternative energy and green transportation. We are collaborating with the BC Sustainable Energy Association and hosting an Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Show at the 2011 OOF.
12:00 PM – Kiki the Eco Elf
Kiki the Eco Elf is a magical Children's Entertainer from Vernon, British Columbia. She is an avid fan of the planet earth and is dedicated to teaching children about how to protect this amazing planet through engaging story-telling, interactive songs, and entertaining clowning/face painting.
2:00 PM - Raging Grannies
Raging Grannies are caring older women who use song to protest and raise awareness of the issues of Peace, the environment and social justice. Satirical and serious, they are politically conscious but non-partisan.
3:00 PM - Community Consignment Fashion Show
A true community event, as the models already personify consignment fashion in their everyday lives! Watch them walk their walk and talk their talk, as second hand is in command at this something for everyone show.
4:00 PM - Ari Neufeld
Ari Neufeld creates in the moment. Music is the strongest, most electric and far-reaching personifications of this ideal, in the consumable, public forum. So there is singing and instrument playing happening over the poetry, but – deeper – there is a celebration in the performer/audience relationship. Ari keeps up with his voice and guitar by playing drums with his legs through an amplified wooden box-half he found in his grandfather’s toolshed. His growth as an artist has been a journey of world-traveling and an array of honest experience, yielding an ever-flourishing deepening to the rendering, and a highly entertaining approach to folk music. Prepare to be disarmed!

The goal of the Centre for Learning is to be living, breathing building that showcases the best sustainability practices and environmental stewardship possible by the College. The IDP design method was used to produce a building with significant reductions in energy demand and water use, while providing improved indoor environments and healthier building sites. Enjoy an informative tour with the Dean herself!

12:30 PM - The Incomappleux, FILM
The Incomappleux River Valley lies in the heart of the only Inland Temperate Rainforest in the world.
